Software Development Manager, Kindle Content Experience

About the role

Join the Kindle Core Services team to lead the technical vision and strategy behind Kindle content security and ebook conversion pipelines. You will guide a high‑performing engineering group to deliver reliable, fast, and secure content experiences for millions of readers worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Own the end‑to‑end systems development life cycle for key Kindle content products.
• Plan, execute, and deliver against project schedules and commitments.
• Manage day‑to‑day activities of the engineering team within an Agile/Scrum framework.
• Staff, mentor, and maintain a best‑in‑class engineering team.
• Report development status, quality metrics, operations health, and system performance to senior leadership.
• Collaborate with engineers to design optimal technical solutions.
• Define the long‑term strategy for Kindle content security and translate it into a concrete roadmap.
• Lead the team through the GenAI transformation and modern SDLC practices.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field.
• 9+ years of software engineering experience.
• 3+ years of experience managing engineering teams.
• Strong judgment and data‑driven decision‑making in ambiguous environments.
• Hands‑on technical expertise with a track record of delivering high‑visibility projects.
• Experience partnering with product or program management.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
