Software Development Engineer II – AWS Compliance & Security

About the role

Amazon is looking for a Software Development Engineer II to join the AWS Compliance & Security Assurance team focused on Denied Party Screening. You will help build automated, large‑scale systems that detect and prevent prohibited transactions, protecting Amazon’s brand and customers.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, release and maintain high‑availability, low‑latency distributed systems that screen billions of events daily.
• Own end‑to‑end components critical to Amazon’s compliance and security posture.
• Collaborate with engineers, machine‑learning scientists, legal, compliance and operations stakeholders.
• Propose and implement innovative algorithms and machine‑learning techniques to improve detection accuracy.
• Scale systems to meet extreme throughput and reliability requirements.

Required profile
