Software Development Engineer, Emerging Devices Software

About the role

Amazon’s Emerging Devices Software (EDS) team is building next‑generation wearable products such as Smart Eyewear. As a Software Development Engineer you will design and implement mobile and cloud software that powers these devices, delivering seamless experiences to customers worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain features for Android, iOS, and React Native applications.
• Build and ship cloud services that integrate with wearable hardware.
• Own key system components, contributing to architecture, scalability, reliability, and long‑term maintainability.
• Write high‑quality, well‑tested code and participate in code reviews.
• Collaborate with product managers, UX designers, QA, and other engineers throughout the development lifecycle.
• Investigate and resolve complex issues across the device‑mobile‑cloud stack.
• Help improve team processes, tools, and engineering practices.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
• 3+ years of professional software development experience (non‑internship).
• 2+ years of experience designing or architecting new or existing systems.
• Proficiency in at least one programming language and experience delivering cloud services or mobile apps.
