Software Development Engineer – Build Scalable Vehicle Data Platforms

About the role

Motorq is looking for a proactive Software Development Engineer to help build and scale its Connected Vehicle Data Platform. You will work on end‑to‑end feature delivery, ensuring high quality, security and cost efficiency while collaborating with cross‑functional teams.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, test and ship new features from technical design through production.
• Write clean, well‑tested, observable code that can scale with high‑throughput data.
• Continuously improve code quality through refactoring, code reviews and clean‑code principles.
• Drive projects forward with an ownership mindset, coordinating with product, data and operations teams.
• Introduce innovative design ideas and stay ahead of emerging technologies.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 2+ years of experience building production software.
• Strong CS fundamentals, problem‑solving, data structures and algorithms.
• Ownership mindset and ability to take features from design to production.
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills across cross‑functional teams.

Required skills

• Proficiency in one or more server‑side languages (Java, Go, Python, C#).
• Experience designing and operating distributed systems at scale.
• Hands‑on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Familiarity with AI‑assisted development tools (coding assistants, LLM APIs).
• Designing RESTful or streaming APIs, handling large‑scale telemetry or time‑series data.
• Exposure to stream processing frameworks (Kafka, Flink) and event‑driven architectures.
