Software Architect – Automotive Safety Systems

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Software Architect to lead safety engineering activities for Occupant Safety Systems (air‑bags) across the product development lifecycle. The role involves close collaboration with OEM customers, project teams and cross‑functional engineers to ensure ISO 26262‑compliant safety processes and successful project delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Perform requirements engineering, develop and review high‑level and low‑level designs.
• Review system and software test specifications and ensure compliance with dependability requirements.
• Communicate software architecture decisions to all stakeholders and analyse non‑compliance issues.
• Participate in change request estimation, moderate Change Control Board meetings and identify impacted components.
• Mentor software leads, engineers and test teams, and support architecture reviews for reliability, maintainability and robustness.
• Define, implement and verify safety‑related software requirements and ensure adherence to automotive quality standards.

Required profile

• Proven experience in automotive safety systems (OSS – air‑bags) and ISO 26262 safety engineering.
• Strong background in embedded systems development with real‑time operating systems.
• Hands‑on experience in automotive software development using C.
• Solid knowledge of requirements engineering and ability to dive deep into technical topics.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and model‑based software development.
• Experience in problem and change request management, impact analysis and test‑scope definition.
• Excellent debugging, root‑cause analysis and systematic problem‑solving skills (e.g., DRBFM).
