Site Utilities Team Member (R&D Facilities)

About the role

The Site Utilities Team Member ensures that all R&D buildings, facilities and utility systems remain fully operational, supporting uninterrupted research and development activities. The role also covers mechanical maintenance of the site and participation in infrastructure projects as needed.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out mechanical and utility maintenance within defined time frames.
• Manage CAPEX projects, prepare and monitor budgets.
• Provide utility services to pilot plant, Kilo lab and R&D labs and ensure data entry in SAP.
• Execute preventive maintenance and breakdown repairs according to schedule and ISO requirements.
• Support the Team Leader with personnel development, target setting and performance coaching.
• Collaborate with internal functions (Chemistry, Analytical, Biology, Knowledge Management) and external vendors.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized institution.
• 5‑7 years of experience in maintenance and utilities within the chemical or pharmaceutical industry.
• Strong communication, creativity, teamwork and people‑centric leadership skills.

Required skills

• Operation and maintenance of HVAC, chiller, boiler, reverse‑osmosis (RO) and compressor systems.
• Experience with thermic‑fluid plants, glass‑lined reactors, ANF, centrifuges, pumps, glass assemblies, vacuum pumps and ejectors.
• Proficiency in SAP data entry/programming for maintenance tracking.
• CAPEX budgeting and financial monitoring.
