Senior UX/UI Designer

About the role

Commutatus is a digital product studio that partners with startups, corporates and social organisations worldwide. As a Senior UX/UI Designer you will own the design process from discovery through launch for complex projects, build and maintain design systems, and mentor junior designers.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end design on multiple concurrent products, translating ambiguous business goals into flows, wireframes and high‑fidelity screens.
• Build, document and govern scalable design systems, including tokens, components and guidelines.
• Run lightweight research, usability testing and turn findings into concrete design improvements.
• Mentor 2‑3 junior and mid‑level designers, conduct design critiques and raise overall design standards.
• Partner with product managers and engineering leads on scoping, feasibility and sequencing, and defend design decisions to diverse stakeholders.

Required profile

• 3+ years of UI/UX design experience with at least 1 year at a senior level.
• Strong portfolio of shipped products showing clear ownership of design systems.
• Proven experience mentoring or guiding other designers in a fast‑paced, client‑facing environment.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency with Figma (variables, component APIs, auto‑layout, interactive prototypes, library publishing).
• Hands‑on experience building and maintaining design systems.
• Familiarity with no‑code tools such as Webflow, Framer or Squarespace.
• Ability to create motion design, micro‑interactions and prototype in code.
