Senior UX Designer – Enterprise Platforms

About the role

Join Elsevier’s Digital Business Solutions UX team to design intuitive experiences for complex, data‑rich enterprise platforms used by research communities worldwide. You will own end‑to‑end design for the Editor Relationship Management System and its Salesforce‑based portal.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with product, engineering and editorial stakeholders to define scope, infrastructure and user needs.
• Develop consolidated information architecture, user flows and prototypes, iterating with regular user testing.
• Map current editorial workflows, identify pain points and design solutions that improve usability.
• Create design‑thinking artifacts that translate concepts into ready‑to‑ship features.
• Produce UX designs within the Elsevier design system and extend component libraries as needed.
• Define migration strategies for existing workflows and measure post‑launch feedback.

Required profile

• 12‑15 years of experience designing enterprise systems, preferably with academic or editorial users.
• Strong portfolio covering user research, UX and UI design.
• Proven ability to run user research and testing sessions and apply data‑driven insights.
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative, low‑ego mindset.

Required skills

• Figma (high‑fidelity design, interactive prototypes).
• Salesforce Experience Cloud.
• WCAG 2.2 AA accessibility standards.
• Graphene design system (or similar pattern libraries).
• AI‑assisted design workflows (rapid prototyping, spec‑driven development).
