Senior Systems Administrator

About the role

The Senior Systems Administrator is responsible for the administration, support, optimization, and continuous improvement of the enterprise IT infrastructure that powers Shield AI’s business operations. This role designs, implements, maintains, and troubleshoots enterprise systems across cloud, endpoint, identity, server, and collaboration platforms while ensuring secure, reliable, and scalable services.

Key responsibilities

• Administer, maintain, and optimize enterprise Windows, Linux, and macOS systems.
• Design, implement, configure, and support cloud services, identity management, endpoint management, and collaboration platforms.
• Analyze system performance and operational metrics to improve reliability, scalability, and security.
• Manage Active Directory, Azure AD/Entra ID, Group Policy, authentication services, and role‑based access controls.
• Deploy and support endpoint management platforms such as Microsoft Intune and JAMF.
• Plan and execute infrastructure upgrades, migrations, patch management, and lifecycle replacement initiatives.
• Lead technical implementation of enterprise IT projects and coordinate with cross‑functional teams.
• Develop automation using PowerShell, Bash, or similar scripting languages.
• Maintain accurate system documentation, architecture diagrams, and knowledge‑base articles.
• Participate in incident response, change management, disaster recovery, and on‑call rotation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of progressive experience administering enterprise IT infrastructure.
• Strong experience with Windows, Linux, and macOS operating systems.
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory, Azure AD (Entra ID), Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and identity management.
• Experience with Microsoft 365 services, Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, and Intune.
• Proficiency in endpoint platforms such as JAMF and Microsoft Endpoint Manager.
• Solid understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, routing, VPN, firewalls).
• Experience supporting enterprise cloud infrastructure and SaaS platforms.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work across technical and non‑technical teams.
