Senior System Administrator

About the role

The Senior System Administrator will join BigEndian Semiconductors in Bengaluru to own and optimise the company’s IT and infrastructure landscape. This full‑time, on‑site position ensures high availability, performance and security of servers, networks and related services supporting engineering and operations teams.

Key responsibilities

• Install, configure and monitor Linux/Unix and Windows servers, virtualization platforms and cloud/hybrid environments.
• Manage user accounts, access controls, backup and recovery processes.
• Administer network components including firewalls, switches, routing, VPNs and enforce network security best practices.
• Collaborate with engineering, operations and development teams to support environments and resolve incidents.
• Implement security controls, patch management and compliance configurations.
• Automate routine tasks using Bash, PowerShell or Python scripts.
• Document procedures, drive process improvements and help scale infrastructure as the company grows.

Required profile

• Strong system administration background with experience in server setup, configuration and performance tuning.
• Proven troubleshooting and technical support skills for infrastructure and user issues.
• Solid foundation in IT covering operating systems, virtualization and cloud or hybrid platforms.
• Experience with network administration and security practices.
• Ability to script/automate tasks (Bash, PowerShell, Python).
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering or related field; relevant certifications (e.g., RHCE, CCNA, CompTIA Security+) are a plus.
• Prior experience in semiconductor, hardware or deep‑tech startups is advantageous.
