Senior Staff Software Engineer - Networking

About the role

Databricks is looking for a Senior Staff Software Engineer with deep networking expertise to shape the future of its Networking Infrastructure. As an early member of the rapidly growing Bangalore site, you will define technical vision and architecture for next‑generation network connectivity and observability services that power and manage millions of VMs across multiple clouds.

Key responsibilities

• Own and drive the design of large‑scale connectivity platforms that link Databricks’ control plane with the compute plane, supporting millions of VMs across multiple clouds.
• Set technical direction at an organization‑wide level, lead cross‑team initiatives, and mentor senior engineers while collaborating with product, operations, and partner engineering teams.

Required profile

• 15+ years of production‑level software development experience in languages such as Rust, Java, Scala, or C++.
• 10+ years building large‑scale distributed systems from the ground up, preferably on SaaS or Service‑Oriented Architecture platforms.
• Hands‑on experience with cloud networking, Kubernetes, and infrastructure‑as‑code tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.
