Senior Specialist - Cash Applications

About the role

IFF, a global leader in flavors, fragrances, food ingredients and health & biosciences, is hiring a Senior Specialist for its Global Business Services function in Hyderabad, India. This is a hybrid role within a strategic, customer-focused team focused on cash application and reconciliation.

Key responsibilities

• Download bank statements from the bank portal and reconcile feeds received in SAP on time.
• Perform daily cash application based on remittances and research on-account items for accurate allocation.
• Maintain and clear suspense accounts and update comments for open items in Blackline related to customer accounts.
• Process small balance write-offs and handle refund requests for duplicate, over or incorrect customer payments.
• Periodically update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to reflect process improvements and compliance requirements.
• Collaborate with AP, GL and onshore teams to resolve customer queries and ensure smooth operations.
• Understand upstream and downstream processes and their impact on cash application and reconciliation.
• Mentor team members, resolve their queries and coordinate with related teams to address issues promptly.
• Meet daily productivity and quality targets while maintaining accuracy and compliance.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or an equivalent professional qualification.
• 4-8 years of experience in cash application processes.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
• Knowledge of month-end activities and ability to identify and address issues proactively.
• Strong adherence to compliance standards and internal controls.
• Ability to contribute to process improvement ideas and work collaboratively across teams.
