Senior Solutions Engineer

About the role

Couchbase is seeking a Senior Solutions Engineer to join its Mumbai team and support a rapidly growing user community. In this pre‑sales position you will act as the primary technical field expert, helping customers understand how Couchbase can solve their operational, analytical, mobile and AI workloads. You will combine software development experience with consultative selling to drive customer success.

Key responsibilities

• Engage with customers and prospects to uncover challenges and map them to the Couchbase ecosystem, delivering clear business value.
• Lead technical discovery activities, including workshops, demos, PoC/pilot management, and issue escalation.
• Collaborate closely with sales teams on account strategy and identify expansion opportunities.
• Develop and deliver compelling product presentations and technical demonstrations for audiences ranging from developers to C‑suite executives.
• Provide feedback to product management and engineering based on field experience.
• Create internal and external technical collateral such as deployment architectures and best‑practice guides.

Required profile

• 5+ years in a pre‑sales, customer‑facing, or consulting role.
• 2+ years of hands‑on software development experience.
• Strong ability to present technical solutions to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
• Passion for solving complex technical problems and driving customer outcomes.

Required skills

• Programming languages: Java, Python, JavaScript.NET, C, SQL.
• Experience with major cloud platforms: AWS, Azure, GCP.
• Familiarity with NoSQL databases and distributed high‑performance systems.
• Container and virtualization technologies: Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift.
