Senior Software Engineer – Quality Automation

About the role

Mastercard is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join the Emerging Payments Technology team in Pune. You will work on building test automation, test infrastructure, and performing code analysis to ensure high‑quality, secure payment solutions across multiple channels.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks and infrastructure.
• Perform code analysis and reviews to enforce quality standards.
• Develop and execute comprehensive test plans, generate test data, and prepare test environments.
• Participate in project reviews, walkthroughs, and inspections, providing feedback on test cases and automation.
• Drive Quality Engineering best practices and mentor junior team members.
• Collaborate with developers, product managers, and program managers to define test strategies and acceptance criteria.
• Contribute to the Masterpass team and manage smaller initiatives as an experienced individual contributor.

Required profile

• Experienced software professional passionate about innovative technology.
• Ability to plan test strategy and acceptance criteria with a focus on functional, non‑functional, and user‑experience requirements.
• Hands‑on coding skills to create robust test automation and to “break” software for quality assurance.
• Motivation to promote a quality‑automation and self‑service culture within software delivery.
• Strong communication skills, able to interact effectively with engineers, program managers, and product managers.
