Senior Software Engineer - QA Automation

About the role

Epsilon's Product team builds products that connect millions of customers with brands, using data, machine learning and artificial intelligence. As a Senior Software Engineer in Bengaluru, you will design and maintain automated test suites for RESTful APIs and web applications, work closely with developers, architects and product teams, and raise the quality bar across the software delivery lifecycle. The role suits QA engineers who like ownership, technical depth and applying emerging technologies such as Generative AI to improve test coverage, efficiency and defect prevention.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain API automation frameworks and test suites for RESTful services built on .NET Core
• Build and enhance UI automation with Selenium and Taiko (or equivalent) for Angular-based web applications
• Create functional, regression and contract API tests with ReadyAPI (or similar)
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and work with DevOps teams on execution, reporting and reliability
• Define test strategies for new features, covering functional, regression, integration, smoke and non-functional scenarios
• Validate cloud-native deployments on AWS and/or Azure
• Apply Generative AI to QA automation, such as test case generation, synthetic test data, log analysis and intelligent maintenance of automation assets
• Partner with developers, product managers and UX on shift-left practices, acceptance criteria and quality gates
• Track defects, perform root-cause analysis and promote reusable frameworks and continuous improvement

Required profile

• BE / B.Tech / MCA degree (full-time education, no correspondence courses)
• 5-8 years of hands-on QA experience focused on test automation
• Proven API automation testing for RESTful services and solid UI automation with Selenium
• Experience with ReadyAPI (or comparable) and Taiko (or equivalent browser automation tools)
• Strong understanding of testing principles, test design and defect lifecycle management

Required skills

• Working knowledge of Angular applications and .NET Core APIs from a testing perspective
• Working knowledge of AWS or Azure deployment and cloud concepts relevant to testing
• CI/CD integration (Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions or similar)
• At least one scripting language for automation, such as C#, JavaScript/TypeScript or Python
• Nice to have: Generative AI in QA, Terraform, performance/security/accessibility testing, BDD, test reporting dashboards and quality metrics
