Senior Software Engineer - Java Backend

About the role

Join Mastercard's Operations & Technology Fraud Products team to develop new capabilities for the Decision Management Platform, a high‑performance Java‑based system that processes billions of transactions each month. You will work on cutting‑edge fraud‑prevention solutions and help accelerate business delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain production‑grade Java backend services for the Decision Management Platform.
• Collaborate with technical leads to define architecture, design components, and implement features.
• Participate in code reviews, enforce engineering standards, and drive best practices.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, containerization, and cloud‑native deployments.
• Support integration with messaging systems, rule engines, and data stores.

Required profile

• 6‑9 years of professional software engineering experience, primarily in Java.
• Strong ownership mindset and ability to influence cross‑functional teams.
• Deep understanding of distributed, event‑driven architectures and design patterns.
• Hands‑on experience building scalable, high‑performance backend services.
• Familiarity with secure coding standards and vulnerability management.
