Senior Software Engineer – Cardholder Services (Global Benefits)

About the role

Mastercard is seeking talented individuals to join our Cardholder Services, Global Benefits team in Pune, India. Mastercard is developing next‑generation products and services that enable cardholders to securely, efficiently, and intelligently access and use benefits across multiple digital channels.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze, design, develop, test, deliver, and support software solutions while defining requirements and customizing applications.
• Drive automation initiatives, build and enhance automation frameworks, and ensure adherence to Mastercard standards and best practices.
• Collaborate in an Agile environment with Product Management, Engineering, and Quality Engineering teams to deliver scalable, secure, high‑quality solutions.
• Own critical initiatives, mentor engineers, participate in code reviews, PoCs, technical evaluations, and continuously improve engineering efficiency.

Required profile

• Strong hands‑on experience with Java, J2EE, Spring, and Spring Boot.
• Proficiency in building and consuming REST APIs and Web Services.
• Experience with Playwright, Selenium, and API automation.
• Ability to design and implement automation frameworks and strategies.
• Solid understanding of software engineering principles, design patterns, SDLC, CI/CD, Git, and Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Proven track record of troubleshooting production issues and providing support.
