Senior Site Reliability Engineer (SRE)

About the role

SigNoz is seeking a Senior Site Reliability Engineer to own the reliability, scalability, and operability of its cloud observability platform. You will ensure a petabyte‑scale system remains fast and dependable for thousands of customers, while working in a remote‑first, high‑ownership environment.

Key responsibilities

• Define and maintain SLOs/SLIs, manage error budgets, and lead incident response without burning on‑call engineers.
• Scale the ingest pipeline to handle bursts of data while preserving freshness.
• Plan capacity and auto‑scale SaaS services across a petabyte‑scale infrastructure.
• Operate, tune, and cost‑optimize ClickHouse and related data layers.
• Manage Kubernetes clusters: upgrades, multi‑tenancy, networking, and automation.
• Dogfood SigNoz’s own observability tools and improve their quality.
• Develop and maintain infrastructure‑as‑code, CI/CD pipelines, and tooling for large‑scale operations.

Required profile

• 5–8 years of experience in SRE, platform, or backend roles operating production systems at scale.
• Deep, hands‑on expertise with Kubernetes in large‑scale environments.
• Strong understanding of distributed‑system failure modes, performance debugging, and capacity planning.
• Comfortable writing code (Go preferred) to automate and fix operational issues.
• Passion for open‑source and prior contributions to OSS projects.
• Excellent communication skills for writing runbooks, docs, and explaining trade‑offs.
