Senior Security Response Engineer

About the role

Cloudera is looking for a Senior Security Response Engineer to strengthen its security posture. You will work within the Incident Response Function, monitoring, detecting, and responding to cyber threats in real time, with a 24/7 operational capability.

Key responsibilities

• Proactively monitor and respond to alerts from SIEM, Cloud Security platforms, EDR and other tools.
• Develop and tune high‑fidelity detection alerts based on threat intelligence and investigation findings.
• Conduct in‑depth incident analysis, determine root cause, and recommend mitigation.
• Collaborate with Enterprise, Cloud, and Product Security teams to manage end‑to‑end response actions.
• Create and maintain incident response playbooks, SOAR workflows, and documentation.
• Participate in threat hunting, threat intelligence research, and strategic security projects.
• Mentor junior analysts and assist in evaluating new security technologies.

Required profile

• 3‑5 years of experience in large‑enterprise incident response, threat hunting, or cloud security.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to work independently and in a team.
• Excellent problem‑solving and communication skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with SIEM, EDR, and Cloud Security platforms.
• Advanced incident response experience in AWS (Azure and GCP a plus).
• Deep knowledge of Kubernetes security and incident handling.
• Experience analyzing threats on macOS, Windows, and Linux systems.
• Familiarity with SOAR, automation, and orchestration workflows.
• Understanding of threat intelligence methodologies.
