Senior SAP Developer

About the role

Databricks is building AI‑powered finance platforms and needs a Senior SAP Developer to create clean‑core extensions, full‑stack applications and integrations that connect SAP S/4HANA with the Databricks Lakehouse. You will work at the intersection of SAP and generative AI to automate finance processes and deliver actionable insights.

Key responsibilities

• Develop side‑by‑side extensions on SAP BTP that keep the S/4HANA core upgrade‑ready.
• Build full‑stack finance applications on the Databricks platform, leveraging APIs, data services and AI tooling.
• Implement secure, event‑driven integrations between SAP and non‑SAP systems using Integration Suite, OData, IDoc and change‑data‑capture.
• Embed generative AI and agentic capabilities into finance workflows, applying RAG, prompt engineering and human‑in‑the‑loop controls.
• Collaborate with data engineering to move SAP data into the Databricks Lakehouse with proper lineage and quality.
• Write unit and integration tests, participate in CI/CD pipelines and follow clean‑core coding standards.

Required profile

• 6+ years of SAP development experience with at least one production‑grade S/4HANA extension or BTP application.
• Strong knowledge of modern ABAP (ABAP Cloud, CDS, RAP) and OData services.
• Hands‑on experience with SAP BTP runtimes, connectivity, XSUAA and deployment.
• Proficiency in SAP Fiori, SAPUI5 and Fiori Elements (OData v4).
• Experience designing integrations with SAP Integration Suite, API Management and event‑mesh patterns.
• Understanding of generative AI concepts (RAG, prompt engineering) and ability to build AI‑enhanced workflows.
• Comfort with Git, CI/CD, automated testing and modern development tools such as VS Code.
