Senior Manager, Finance Data and AI

About the role

As Senior Manager, Finance Data and AI you will lead the team that owns the data foundations, finance semantic layer, financial reporting, and AI‑enabled analytics for Databricks' Finance and Accounting organization. Reporting to the Senior Director, Finance Data, AI & Strategy, you will be based in Bengaluru and act as the technical anchor that turns financial operations into trusted, well‑governed data.

Key responsibilities

• Orchestrate jobs using Databricks Jobs and Lakeflow Declarative Pipelines with built‑in validation and reconciliations.
• Own and evolve the finance semantic layer, ensuring a single source of truth for reporting.
• Partner with Accounting during month‑end and quarter‑end close to ensure accurate, timely data.
• Build and maintain dashboards for monthly, quarterly and executive reporting.
• Identify and deliver AI use cases such as forecasting automation, anomaly detection and natural‑language interfaces.
• Develop internal Finance applications (Databricks Apps, Genie Spaces) for self‑service analytics.
• Publish curated finance datasets with row‑level security and data access policies.
• Manage and grow a team of finance data analysts/engineers, setting standards for modeling, dashboards and analytics delivery.
• Enforce Git‑based version control, change management and CI/CD to satisfy SOX requirements.

Required profile

• 12+ years of experience in business intelligence, financial analytics or analytics engineering with deep exposure to finance/accounting operations.
• At least 3 years of people‑management experience.
• Strong understanding of core finance and accounting concepts (month‑end close, revenue recognition, chart of accounts, etc.).
• Proven ability to translate ambiguous finance requirements into well‑governed reporting and analytics deliverables.
• Comfortable working with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
• Familiarity with AI/ML concepts and enthusiasm for applying them to finance workflows.
