Senior Legal Counsel – Plant Operations

About the role

Tata Electronics Private Limited is establishing India’s first AI‑enabled semiconductor foundry in Dholera. The company seeks a senior legal professional to serve as the single point of legal authority for all site‑related matters, providing end‑to‑end legal support throughout plant setup and execution.

Key responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive legal support for all construction and site activities, including drafting, reviewing, negotiating and managing EPC contracts, work orders, amendments and claims.
• Advise project teams on legal implications of civil, mechanical, electrical, IT and infrastructure works, and mitigate contract risks such as variation orders, delay claims and liquidated damages.
• Collaborate with general contractors, design engineers, consultants and multiple service contractors to ensure legal compliance in procurement of materials, equipment and labour.
• Handle pollution control, environmental compliance and coordination with statutory authorities, ensuring adherence to local and central construction, labour and safety regulations.
• Identify and manage legal risks during construction and commissioning, resolve site‑level disputes, and coordinate with external counsel when required.

Required profile

• LLB from a recognized university; additional certifications or LLM preferred.
• Minimum 15 years of post‑qualification experience, preferably in construction‑intensive projects and large‑scale manufacturing plants.
• Proven track record of managing EPC contracts, procurement agreements and regulatory compliance.
• Strong understanding of Indian labour laws, environmental regulations and industrial safety standards.

• Ability to assess and mitigate contractual and project‑related legal risks.
