Senior Legal Counsel

About the role

The Senior Legal Counsel provides professional legal support for post‑closing project activities, contract management, claims handling and complex commercial matters. Working closely with business stakeholders, the role mitigates risk, manages contractual obligations and ensures compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review, negotiate and amend commercial contracts, service agreements, legal notices and other business‑critical documents.
• Manage contract and claims matters, including preparation of legal correspondence, contractual assessments and dispute‑mitigation strategies.
• Provide legal advice on commercial, regulatory and compliance issues while identifying and mitigating legal risks.
• Support meetings, negotiations and stakeholder discussions by delivering practical legal guidance and documentation support.
• Coordinate with external counsel and assist in dispute‑resolution activities aligned with business objectives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Law (LL.B./LL.M.) or equivalent qualification.
• Minimum 7 years of relevant experience in a law firm or in‑house role, focusing on Indian/APAC corporate and commercial law.
• Strong experience in contract drafting, contract management, claims management, legal analysis and legal research.
• Knowledge of corporate governance, compliance requirements, risk management and commercial legal practices.
• Proven ability to review and negotiate commercial agreements and support complex business transactions.
• Excellent negotiation, communication, stakeholder‑management and influencing skills.
• Ability to work independently in a fast‑paced environment while handling multiple priorities.
