Senior Kubernetes & Cloud DevOps Engineer

About the role

Avaloq is looking for a Senior Kubernetes & Cloud DevOps Engineer to design, implement and operate its cloud‑native platform. You will work with platform, security and application teams to build resilient, secure infrastructure for mission‑critical financial services.

Key responsibilities

• Design, deploy and optimise Kubernetes clusters across cloud and hybrid environments.
• Manage the full lifecycle of clusters – provisioning, upgrades, scaling, monitoring and troubleshooting.
• Implement best‑practice networking, security, storage and high‑availability configurations.
• Build and maintain secure, scalable infrastructure on AWS and/or Oracle Cloud Infrastructure.
• Develop Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, including reusable modules.
• Administer Linux systems, focusing on performance, security patches and reliability.
• Create and enhance CI/CD pipelines with tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions or GitLab CI/CD.
• Implement observability solutions using Prometheus, Grafana, ELK/OpenSearch.
• Participate in incident management, root‑cause analysis and continuous improvement.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience in DevOps, Cloud Infrastructure, Platform Engineering or SRE.
• Strong hands‑on experience with Kubernetes in production, including networking, ingress, storage and RBAC.
• Experience with AWS and/or Oracle Cloud Infrastructure and cloud‑native security practices.
• Advanced Linux administration and troubleshooting skills.
• Proficiency in Terraform and Infrastructure‑as‑Code principles.
