Senior HR Business Partner – Bangalore

Ethos Life is a fast‑growing life‑insurance technology company transforming how families access coverage. As a Senior HR Business Partner based in Bangalore, you will partner with the Director of People – APAC to support rapid expansion, ensuring compliance with Indian labour regulations while driving talent strategy.

Key responsibilities

• Lead regular business partnership meetings, providing compensation guidance and workforce analytics to drive headcount planning and organizational design.
• Manage complex employee‑relations cases, conduct investigations, and ensure adherence to Indian statutes such as the Shops & Establishments Act, POSH Act and new Labour Codes.
• Collaborate with Payroll, Compliance, Talent Acquisition and Total Rewards to deliver a consistent employee experience across Karnataka and other operating states.
• Identify training needs, support onboarding/offboarding, and monitor retention, promotion and diversity metrics for the assigned business unit.
• Develop and refine India‑specific People Ops policies and processes, bridging gaps between global policy and local legal requirements.

Required profile

• 8+ years of HR Business Partner experience, preferably in a fast‑moving technology or insurance environment.
• Deep knowledge of Indian labour law and statutory compliance (PF, ESI, gratuity, bonus, Shops & Establishments Act, new Labour Codes).
• Proven ability to handle complex employee‑relations investigations and partner with regulated functions such as underwriting or engineering.
• Strong analytical mindset, data‑driven decision making, and excellent communication skills with senior stakeholders.
