Senior Expert – Generative & Multimodal AI Research Lead

About the role

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Expert to lead advanced research and innovation in Generative and Multimodal AI. The role will shape Bosch’s AI roadmap, drive cutting‑edge projects from concept to deployment, and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams across the globe.

Key responsibilities

• Identify emerging research opportunities and design high‑impact programs aligned with strategic technology priorities.
• Lead advanced research to create novel AI methods, algorithms, architectures, and reusable assets for strategic portfolios.
• Develop prototypes and demonstrators to validate feasibility, performance, scalability, and application potential.
• Advance multimodal learning, knowledge‑grounded AI, neural‑symbolic reasoning, and foundation‑model adaptation.
• Improve AI reasoning, reliability, explainability, robustness, efficiency, and trustworthiness.
• Publish research results, file patents, and represent Bosch in external scientific forums.
• Establish collaborations with universities, research institutes, technology partners, and AI ecosystems.
• Mentor researchers and technical experts, fostering long‑term AI competency development.
• Drive technology transfer by working with engineering teams to mature and transition research outcomes.
• Communicate complex technical content clearly to customers, stakeholders, and management.

Required profile

• MTech or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field.
• 15–18 years of applied AI research experience, including deep learning.
• 3–5 years of hands‑on experience with Generative AI, large and small language models, multimodal AI, or foundation models.
• Proven ability to define AI technology roadmaps and long‑term research strategies.
• Strong track record of publishing, patenting, and leading multidisciplinary teams.
