Senior Engineer – Process Exhaust

About the role

Tata Electronics Private Limited is building India’s first AI‑enabled semiconductor foundry. The Senior Engineer – Process Exhaust will lead the design, installation, commissioning, operation and maintenance of the exhaust systems that protect the fab environment and ensure regulatory compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct design reviews and coordinate engineering across disciplines.
• Review BIM models, prepare and validate P&IDs, layouts, calculations and specifications.
• Collaborate with consultants, OEMs, contractors and tool teams for exhaust hook‑ups.
• Support startup, commissioning, and hand‑over activities.
• Lead operation, maintenance, troubleshooting and breakdown analysis.
• Develop preventive and predictive maintenance plans and perform CAPA analysis.
• Perform reliability engineering, HAZOP studies, safety compliance and incident investigations.
• Manage emission monitoring, stack testing and statutory reporting.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering.
• 8–10 years of experience in semiconductor, cleanroom or high‑tech manufacturing environments.
• Prior work in 300 mm wafer fabs is highly desirable.

Required skills

• Expertise in acid, ammonia, VOC, CVD and toxic exhaust handling.
• Knowledge of exhaust chemistry, airflow and pressure balancing.
• Selection of corrosion‑resistant ducting materials (FRP, PVDF, SS).
• Design of VOC handling, LEL safety and hazardous exhaust segregation.
• Experience with SUN/SUS wet scrubber systems and redundant exhaust fans/blowers.
• Familiarity with emission monitoring and regulatory compliance systems.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Navisworks/Revit (preferred) and MS Office.
