Senior Engineer – Application Engineer (Active Safety & New Braking Systems)

About the role

Join Bosch, a world leader in automotive technology, as a Senior Application Engineer in the Active Safety team. You will develop and calibrate cutting‑edge safety systems such as ABS, ESP and next‑generation braking solutions (Integrated Power Brake® & iBooster®) on prototype vehicles across combustion, hybrid and electric platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Calibrate, test and evaluate control‑system algorithms on prototype vehicles to meet Bosch, customer and legal standards.
• Conduct vehicle performance validation in summer and winter proving grounds, analysing results to optimise system behaviour.
• Serve as the primary technical contact for customers, translating requirements into successful project delivery.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot complex in‑vehicle issues related to hardware, software and data‑acquisition systems throughout the development cycle.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional internal and external teams to support project acquisition and ensure compliance with development and quality processes.

Required profile

• Strong understanding of ABS and ESP system principles, hardware, software and typical use cases.
• Hands‑on experience with vehicle testing and validation on proving grounds and test tracks, including brake tests and dynamic manoeuvres.
• Ability to assess vehicle behaviour and evaluate the impact of component changes on dynamics, tires and power‑train.
