Senior Director – Merchant Banking

About the role

The Senior Director – Merchant Banking will lead the firm’s merchant banking franchise, driving origination of high‑value capital market mandates while ensuring flawless execution. Reporting to senior leadership, this hybrid "hunter‑executor" will shape strategy, build a high‑performing team, and maintain the firm’s market leadership.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and originate new mandates across IPOs, Rights Issues, QIPs, Open Offers and Buybacks, meeting annual fee targets.
• Lead end‑to‑end execution of capital market transactions, overseeing due diligence, drafting offer documents (DRHP/RHP) and managing regulatory interfaces with SEBI and stock exchanges.
• Provide sector‑agnostic advisory on capital structuring and complex regulatory frameworks.
• Develop and sustain long‑term relationships with C‑suite executives, promoters and institutional investors.
• Mentor and supervise junior associates and analysts, ensuring high‑quality deliverables and compliance.
• Accurately record chargeable time, monitor productivity, handle pricing, invoicing and fee collection.
• Undertake director‑level responsibilities in internal or client entities of Amicorp Group as required.

Required profile

• Chartered Accountant (CA), MBA (Finance) from a premier institute or CFA charter holder.
• 10–13 years of core experience with at least 5–7 years at a Category 1 merchant banker.
• Proven track record of generating significant revenue and closing marquee transactions.
• Deep knowledge of SEBI (ICDR) regulations, Companies Act and Takeover Code.
