Senior DevOps Engineer – GitLab CI/CD & GitOps

About the role

UST is looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer to lead the design, implementation, and optimisation of scalable deployment pipelines. The role focuses on GitLab CI/CD, GitOps practices, and automation to improve release speed and reliability for our clients.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build and optimise GitLab CI/CD pipelines for build, test and deployment workflows.
• Implement and manage GitOps‑based infrastructure and application delivery.
• Configure repository structures, version‑control strategies and deployment triggers.
• Drive Release on Demand (RoD) processes for controlled production releases.
• Securely handle configuration and artefacts within CI/CD environments.
• Monitor, troubleshoot and improve pipeline performance using Datadog dashboards and logs.
• Collaborate with development teams to embed DevOps best practices across the software delivery lifecycle.
• Support containerised application deployment with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Ensure compliance with security, availability and scalability standards.

Required profile

• 6+ years of hands‑on DevOps experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field.
• Proven experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.

Required skills

• GitLab CI/CD and GitLab Runner.
• GitOps principles.
• Datadog monitoring and observability.
• Cloud platforms: AWS, Azure or GCP.
• Kubernetes and Docker.
• Infrastructure as Code: Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Release automation strategies: Blue‑Green, Canary, Rolling.
• DevSecOps practices and security scanning.
