Senior Data Scientist – AI, GenAI & RAG

About the role

The Senior Data Scientist will lead complex AI projects that combine Generative AI, Retrieval‑Augmented Generation (RAG) and agentic solutions to drive business outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and deploy machine‑learning and GenAI models in production.
• Build and optimise RAG pipelines and fine‑tune large language models.
• Develop prompt‑engineering strategies and evaluation frameworks.
• Implement scalable ML pipelines using Python and integrate structured and unstructured data sources.
• Collaborate with engineering, product and domain experts to deliver AI‑driven features.
• Monitor model performance, drift and reliability, and conduct A/B testing and benchmarking.
• Contribute to architecture design for AI‑powered systems.

Required profile

• 6–8 years of professional experience in data science or machine learning.
• Hands‑on experience with large language models, embeddings and vector‑search technologies.
• Familiarity with legal, regulatory or publishing domains is a plus.

Required skills

• Advanced Python programming.
• Machine‑learning libraries: Scikit‑learn, XGBoost, LightGBM, PyTorch, TensorFlow.
• Generative AI tools: HuggingFace, OpenAI APIs, LangChain or LlamaIndex.
• Vector databases such as Pinecone, FAISS, Weaviate, OpenSearch.
• SQL and data‑querying skills.
• Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and CI/CD for ML deployments.
• Model tracking (MLflow preferred) and MLOps practices.
