Senior Data Engineer – DataHub L4 (7‑9 years)

About the role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Engineer to design, build, and optimise data pipelines and backend services for Capco’s DataHub platform. The role involves Java development, MongoDB expertise and cloud infrastructure deployment.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable data pipelines and backend services using Java and Spring Boot.
• Lead MongoDB schema design, data modelling, query optimisation and indexing strategies.
• Develop and maintain secure, high‑performance RESTful APIs for data exchange.
• Deploy and manage data workloads on cloud platforms such as IBM Cloud, AWS, Azure or GCP.
• Conduct performance tuning and bottleneck analysis across the data stack.
• Perform code reviews and implement automated testing frameworks (JUnit, Mockito).

Required profile

• 6‑8 years of experience in data engineering, with strong Java and Spring Boot skills.
• Proven expertise in MongoDB (aggregation, sharding, replication, Atlas).
• Experience building REST APIs, OAuth2 and API gateway management.
• Hands‑on experience with cloud environments and containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Excellent verbal and written communication, able to work with on‑shore and offshore teams.
