Senior Backend Software Engineer (Node.js)

About the role

Renesas is seeking a Senior Backend Software Engineer to design and build high‑quality, secure, and high‑performance applications for its AI‑powered supply management platform. You will work closely with product and front‑end teams to translate requirements into robust server‑side solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain backend services using Node.js.
• Participate in sprint planning, task estimation and user‑story creation.
• Lead the design and implementation of complex features, guided by the technical lead.
• Mentor junior developers and conduct code reviews.
• Write unit and integration tests to ensure code quality.
• Integrate front‑end components with server‑side logic.
• Use GitHub for source control and collaborate with cross‑functional teams.
• Contribute to process improvements and drive development efficiency.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field.
• 5+ years of professional software development experience.
• Strong experience with backend development in Node.js.
• Deep knowledge of JavaScript, web stacks, libraries and frameworks.
• Solid understanding of relational databases, especially PostgreSQL, and ability to write complex SQL queries.
