Senior Avionics Software Developer

About the role

Airbus is seeking a Senior Avionics Software Developer to lead the development of safety‑critical real‑time embedded software for avionics applications. The role involves full‑life‑cycle ownership, from high‑level requirements through certification, using DO‑178C standards.

Key responsibilities

• Spearhead requirement engineering activities, gathering and documenting software requirements.
• Understand and evolve the global static and dynamic software architecture.
• Create high‑level and low‑level designs, including HOOD, class definitions, and UML diagrams.
• Perform coding, debugging, and build generation efficiently.
• Coordinate with stakeholders and verification teams to resolve complex technical issues.
• Troubleshoot issues identified during system testing.
• Mentor junior team members and foster competency development.
• Maintain professional relationships with customers, partners, and peers.

Required profile

• Minimum 7 years of experience in the full software lifecycle within the avionics domain.
• Hands‑on expertise in embedded software requirements engineering and architecture (static & dynamic).
• Proven ability in design and development of algorithms, interfaces, schedulers, abstraction, and modularization.
• Experience with embedded programming languages such as C, C++, and ADA.
• Strong background in unit testing, configuration, and change management on RTOS platforms.
• Familiarity with DO‑178C standards and certification processes.
• Experience working with global, multi‑site teams.
