Lead CAD Engineer - Methods & Tools

About the role

Airbus India is looking for a Lead CAD Engineer to drive the design, customization, and extension of core PLM/CAD solutions for high‑complexity engineering environments. The role sits within the Engineering Methods & Tools team, collaborating across multiple engineering verticals to deliver digital solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Design, code, and maintain robust C++ and CAA plugins/extensions for CATIA V6 / 3DEXPERIENCE platform.
• Leverage EKL to embed engineering rules, template design, parameterization, and automated workflows within 3DEXPERIENCE models.
• Partner with engineering teams, PLM architects, and business stakeholders to translate domain requirements into scalable software solutions.
• Write clean, modular code; conduct peer reviews, unit testing, and continuous debugging within the CAA framework.
• Lead, guide, and mentor junior CAD developers, providing technical direction on CAA/EKL best practices.

Required profile

• Minimum 8 years of professional CAD application development experience in automotive or aerospace industries.
• Deep proficiency in C++ (object‑oriented programming, memory management, design patterns).
• Demonstrated mastery of CAA V5/V6 (3DEXPERIENCE API) development and hands‑on EKL knowledge.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field.
