Senior Avionics Software Developer

About the role

Airbus India is seeking a Senior Avionics Software Developer to lead the design and implementation of safety‑critical real‑time embedded software for avionics applications. The role involves shaping architecture, guiding a multi‑site team, and ensuring compliance with DO‑178B/C standards.

Key responsibilities

• Lead requirement engineering: gather system requirements, analyse and document software requirements.
• Understand and evolve the global software architecture (static and dynamic).
• Create high‑level and low‑level designs using HOOD, class definitions and UML diagrams.
• Perform coding, debugging, build generation and unit verification.
• Coordinate with stakeholders, verification teams and external partners to resolve complex technical issues.
• Troubleshoot issues from system, simulator, flight‑test and in‑service phases.
• Maintain professional relationships with customers, peers and partners.

Required profile

• 10+ years of experience across the full software lifecycle in avionics.
• Proven technical leadership in architecture and process definition.
• Experience working with global, multi‑site teams.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Required skills

• Embedded programming in C, C++ and Ada.
• Real‑time operating systems (RTOS) and A653‑compliant RTOS (good to have).
• DO‑178B/C standards and certification processes.
• Unit testing, configuration and change management.
• Knowledge of avionics communication protocols (ARINC429, CAN, AFDX).
• Software architecture, requirements engineering and UML design.
