Senior Avaloq Developer

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Avaloq Developer to design, build and enhance trading and settlement functionality on the Avaloq Banking Suite for a wealth‑management client. The role covers the full securities trade lifecycle, from order capture to settlement.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and unit‑test Avaloq customisations for trading, STEX and settlement processes.
• Implement order handling for exchange‑traded and OTC products, including routing, execution, confirmation and booking.
• Build and maintain STEX and settlement workflows, covering instruction generation, matching, status handling, fails management and reconciliation.
• Apply pooling logic to aggregate orders, allocate executions and net settlement instructions.
• Develop connectivity with exchanges, brokers, custodians and depositories using ISO 20022, SWIFT, FIX and APIs.
• Analyse requirements, produce technical designs, support testing cycles and manage releases.
• Investigate and resolve production incidents, perform root‑cause analysis and deliver permanent fixes.
• Review code, mentor junior developers and promote best practices.

Required profile

• 6‑10+ years of software development experience, with 4+ years of hands‑on Avaloq work.
• Strong knowledge of Avaloq securities trading module and order‑pooling concepts.
• Experience with PL/SQL, Oracle and the Avaloq development stack (Avaloq Script/AvqScript, Avaloq Workbench).
• Understanding of the securities lifecycle, ISO 20022, SWIFT and FIX messaging.
• Proficiency in Agile/DevOps environments using Jira, Git and CI/CD pipelines.
