About the role

ETAP is looking for a Senior Automation Engineer to design, develop, commission and support SCADA/DMS solutions for electrical networks. The role involves on‑site installation, testing and customer training across India and the ASP region.

Key responsibilities

Design, engineer and document SCADA/DMS systems, including databases, HMI graphics and communication architecture.
Configure and commission RTU/PLC/FRTU devices, routers, firewalls and modems for field communication.
Perform factory acceptance testing (FAT) and site acceptance testing (SAT), provide validation support and deliver customer training.
Troubleshoot and resolve faults during and after installation, ensuring customer satisfaction and compliance with project requirements.

Required profile

Bachelor’s (or higher) degree in Control Systems, Electrical/Electronic or Computer Engineering.
5–8 years of experience developing SCADA, DMS or related automation solutions for electrical networks.
Strong verbal and written communication skills in English and ability to work independently with customers.

Required skills

SCADA/DMS platforms, PLC, RTU, FRTU, HMI development.
IP networking, TCP/UDP, VLAN, routers, switches, firewalls, GPRS/3G/4G modems.
Communication protocols: DNP3, IEC‑60870‑5‑101/104, IEC‑61850, MODBUS.
Programming/scripting: Python, C#, C++, VB, PowerShell, Shell scripting.
Database: SQL, MongoDB, Oracle.
CCNA (or equivalent) and knowledge of industrial network security.
