Senior Associate Advocate – Litigation (Kolkata)

About the role

We are expanding our litigation team in Kolkata and are looking for a Senior Associate Advocate with strong practical experience in both civil and criminal court practice. The role involves independent handling of matters from filing through to final disposal across lower courts and the Calcutta High Court.

Key responsibilities

• Appear independently in lower courts and the Calcutta High Court, managing civil and criminal matters.
• Draft petitions, applications, affidavits, legal notices and vet them for accuracy.
• Conduct case preparation, client coordination, and briefing of senior counsel.
• Handle writ petitions, CRR, CRM, CO, PIL, police inaction matters and other high‑court proceedings.
• Develop case strategy, conduct legal research and present arguments before the bench.
• Guide and supervise junior associates, overseeing overall case management.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of continuous litigation experience with a proven track record of independent case handling.
• Enrollment with the Bar Council of India and ability to practice independently in Kolkata courts.

• Excellent drafting and legal research abilities.
• Professional communication and strict adherence to deadlines.
