Technology Attorney

About the role

We are seeking a highly skilled Technology Attorney to manage legal and business matters related to technology services, software licensing, SaaS agreements, and commercial transactions for the US market while based in Kolkata, India. The role will involve drafting, negotiating and advising on a wide range of technology‑focused contracts and ensuring compliance with data‑privacy regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate technology‑related agreements such as SaaS contracts, master service agreements, statements of work, software licensing, professional services, vendor, partnership, advertising technology, and film post‑production agreements for US and global markets.
• Provide strategic legal counsel on business activities, aligning with corporate goals and risk‑management strategies.
• Structure and execute commercial transactions, manage deal flows and facilitate contract execution.
• Collaborate with internal teams (technology, product, finance, procurement, security, compliance, operations) to ensure legally sound business operations.
• Ensure compliance with data‑privacy laws (GDPR, CCPA, etc.) and identify/mitigate legal risks supporting product development and growth initiatives.

Required profile

• Law degree (LL.B. or equivalent) with strong experience in technology law and commercial contracting.
• Minimum 3 years of experience drafting and negotiating SaaS, software licensing, advertising technology, and media production agreements.
• Proven expertise in handling complex commercial transactions and a solid understanding of global data‑privacy regulations (GDPR, CCPA).
• Excellent English communication, negotiation and analytical skills, with ability to work across cross‑functional teams.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
