Senior Assistant Vice President – Application Security Leader

About the role

EXL is seeking a forward‑thinking Application Security Leader to shape and drive its Application Security practice across multi‑cloud and AI‑based solutions. This senior position will guide the development of a robust security program that protects critical health and insurance data while supporting the company’s rapid cloud‑native growth.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute a comprehensive application security strategy aligned with business goals and technology landscape.
• Lead, mentor, and expand a global team of application security professionals, fostering a culture of excellence.
• Integrate security practices into SDLC and DevOps pipelines, collaborating with development, DevOps, and IT teams.
• Oversee threat identification, vulnerability assessment, penetration testing, and code review programs.
• Ensure regulatory compliance and produce regular security metrics and reports for executive leadership.
• Establish a high‑security baseline for container environments, CI/CD pipelines, and runtime analysis.
• Stay current on emerging security trends and drive continuous improvement of the security posture.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading application security initiatives for complex, multi‑cloud and AI‑driven applications.
• Strong track record of building and managing high‑performing security teams.
• Excellent collaboration skills with senior management, product, and engineering leaders.
• Deep understanding of regulatory requirements affecting health and insurance data.
