Senior Applied AI Engineer – AI Agents

About the role

FAFF is looking for a Senior Applied AI Engineer to design, build and ship production‑grade AI agents that solve real‑world problems. The role requires deep engineering expertise and the ability to tackle ambiguous, complex challenges beyond surface‑level generative AI knowledge.

Key responsibilities

• Build and deploy AI agents and agentic workflows for real‑world use cases.
• Own AI problem statements end‑to‑end, from definition through production deployment.
• Design reliable systems that combine large language models, tool integration, retrieval, memory and structured workflows.
• Experiment with different approaches to identify the most effective solution for each problem.
• Improve accuracy, reliability, latency and cost of AI systems.
• Develop evaluation and monitoring mechanisms for AI applications.
• Collaborate closely with product and engineering teams to translate business needs into AI solutions.
• Debug failures and continuously enhance production AI systems.

Required profile

• 4+ years of experience in AI/ML engineering or a closely related role.
• Previous experience at a product‑based company.
• Hands‑on experience building and shipping AI/ML systems.
• Demonstrated experience building AI agents, agentic workflows or tool‑calling systems.
• Strong understanding of large language models and their production use.
• Proficiency in Python programming.
• Ability to take ambiguous problem statements and develop deep, implementable solutions.
• Experience with retrieval‑augmented generation, embeddings, vector databases, evaluation, prompt engineering or model integration.
• Strong problem‑solving and debugging skills.
