About the role

Google’s Geo team builds the most accurate and comprehensive mapping products used by billions worldwide. As a Software Engineering Manager you will provide technical leadership for large‑scale projects, shape product strategy, and develop a high‑performing engineering team.

Key responsibilities

• Set and communicate team priorities aligned with broader organization goals.
• Develop mid‑term technical vision and roadmap for multiple teams.
• Design, guide, and vet system architectures while writing code to solve ambiguous problems.
• Review code from engineers, ensuring best practices, testability, and efficiency.
• Manage a large product budget and oversee deployment of large‑scale projects across international sites.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 8+ years of software development experience.
• 3+ years in a technical leadership role.
• 2+ years of people management or team leadership.
• Experience integrating generative AI tools or LLM interfaces into workflows.
