Senior AI Research Scientist/Engineer – Governance Automation

About the role

Credo AI is seeking a senior AI research scientist/engineer to lead the development of its AI Governance Agent, an intelligent assistant that automates governance workflows. In this remote, full‑time position you will prototype, validate and refine AI capabilities that identify risks, select controls, evaluate evidence and streamline compliance processes.

Key responsibilities

• Support design and development of the Credo AI Agent to streamline governance workflows.
• Create hybrid systems that combine rule‑based foundations with advanced AI capabilities.
• Build prototypes in the Labs environment that demonstrate immediate value and validate longer‑term approaches.
• Research and implement state‑of‑the‑art methods for AI alignment, evaluation and oversight.
• Collaborate with product, engineering and customer‑facing teams to transition prototypes into production systems.

Required profile

• Passionate about solving AI governance challenges using AI itself.
• Thrives in ambiguous problem spaces and can deliver pragmatic solutions.
• Excellent communication skills to translate complex technical concepts for diverse stakeholders.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in Python and modern AI development stacks.
• Experience developing and deploying production LLM‑based systems.
• Expertise in prompt engineering, retrieval‑augmented generation and LLM alignment.
• Ability to build complex AI agents with multiple components.
