Senior AI Engineer – Production AI Systems

About the role

Mastercard’s Business & Market Insights (B&MI) team is looking for a Senior AI Engineer to design, build, and operate production‑grade AI systems that deliver measurable business impact at scale. You will translate advanced AI and machine learning techniques into reliable, governed, and observable solutions embedded within enterprise platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy scalable AI and machine learning systems that solve complex business problems and run reliably in production.
• Productionize models through robust training, evaluation, inference, and deployment pipelines, following CI/CD best practices.
• Implement and maintain evaluation frameworks for model performance, safety, quality, and drift across the model lifecycle.
• Collaborate closely with product managers, software engineers, and data partners to embed AI capabilities, including LLM‑based components, into customer workflows.
• Ensure operational excellence, responsible AI practices, and long‑term maintainability of AI solutions.

Required profile

• Proven senior‑level experience in AI/ML engineering and production deployment.
• Strong background in building end‑to‑end AI pipelines and governance frameworks.
• Ability to work cross‑functionally with product, engineering, and data teams.
• Understanding of responsible AI, model monitoring, and drift detection.
• Experience with large language models (LLM) is a plus.
