Senior AI Engineer – Backend

About the role

Renesas, a global semiconductor leader, is seeking a Senior AI Engineer to drive AI‑powered capabilities within its Altium‑based supply‑management platform. You will own end‑to‑end AI feature development, turning business challenges into scalable, production‑ready solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Deeply understand Large Language Model (LLM) capabilities and limitations.
• Architect multi‑step agentic systems that reason beyond simple generation.
• Build Retrieval‑Augmented Generation (RAG) pipelines and AI‑powered workflows.
• Develop evaluation infrastructure to measure model performance.
• Ship production code with full observability, error handling, and reliability.
• Design, build, and deploy AI/ML solutions aligned with product goals.
• Identify AI use cases within existing products and workflows.
• Work with structured and unstructured data to extract insights.
• Integrate AI models into production APIs and services.
• Monitor model performance and continuously improve accuracy and efficiency.
• Define AI best practices, documentation, and standards for the organization.
• Guide developers on AI adoption and implementation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, AI, Software Engineering, Mathematics or Statistics.
• 5+ years of professional experience in Machine Learning and AI development.
• Proven ability to work independently, take end‑to‑end ownership, and translate business problems into technical solutions.
