Senior Administrator, Systems Engineering

About the role

Intercontinental Exchange (ICE) is seeking a Senior Administrator for Systems Engineering to support mixed UNIX and Windows environments. The role involves ensuring high availability, performance, and reliability of development, non‑production, and production systems while collaborating with engineering and operations teams.

Key responsibilities

• Respond to production incidents and maintain service availability across Windows and Linux platforms.
• Participate in project‑driven initiatives, working with infrastructure, development, and operations teams.
• Automate manual processes using scripting and application development to improve efficiency.
• Research, evaluate, and adopt new technologies, including AI‑assisted monitoring and automation tools.
• Provide first‑level support for server‑related issues enterprise‑wide.
• Conduct root‑cause analysis, document findings, and propose corrective actions.
• Maintain system documentation, runbooks, and troubleshooting guides.
• Ensure compliance with IT policies and security standards.

Required profile

• 1–3 years of hands‑on systems administration experience with Windows Server and/or RedHat‑based Linux in production.
• Basic to intermediate scripting skills (Python, Bash, PowerShell, Perl, Ruby, or similar).
• Familiarity with automation tools such as Ansible, Puppet, or Chef.
• Understanding of networking concepts including DNS, DHCP, firewalls, and VPNs.
• Exposure to AI‑assisted operational tools (monitoring, observability, coding assistants).
