Apigee Architect – Enterprise API Platform Lead

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Apigee Architect to lead the design, governance, and operations of our enterprise API platforms using Apigee Hybrid and Apigee Edge in a high‑scale banking environment.

Key responsibilities

• Design and govern Apigee Hybrid and Edge environments, defining API architecture standards, proxy design, shared flows, and versioning.
• Define reusable API policies, guide teams on orchestration, transformations, and error handling, and ensure compliance with banking security standards.
• Design scalable, highly available API gateway architecture, deployment models, traffic routing, and failover strategies.
• Lead platform upgrades, patching, capacity planning, and lifecycle management based on API traffic.
• Define monitoring strategy, establish SLOs/SLIs, drive incident management, RCA, and proactive alerting.
• Implement API security standards (OAuth 2.0, JWT, mTLS) and Zero Trust principles, leading security reviews.
• Define CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub, Terraform), automate deployments, and support GitOps delivery models.

Required profile

• 10–15 years of IT experience with at least 4 years in API architecture.
• Strong hands‑on experience with Apigee Hybrid and Edge on large‑scale platforms.
• Prior experience in banking or financial services is preferred.
