Senior Accountant – Service Industry

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Accountant with 4‑8 years of experience in the service industry to lead our general accounting operations in Bhubaneswar. The role involves ensuring accurate financial transactions, compliance with statutory regulations, and delivering timely management reports.

Key responsibilities

• Control and verify all financial transactions, including payment verification and reconciliations.
• Prepare financial statements and perform month‑end balance sheet and income‑statement finalisation.
• Assist with tax audits, tax returns, and preparation of working papers on a real‑time basis.
• Design, prepare and review budgets in collaboration with management.
• Maintain and reconcile fixed‑asset schedules and oversee monthly MIS reporting.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, statutory payments, Income Tax, TDS, GST and related filings.
• Supervise accounting staff and manage vendor, salary, and expense processing.

Required profile

• 4‑8 years of accounting experience in a service‑industry environment.
• Qualifications: CA Inter, B.Com, M.Com or MBA.
• Excellent communication skills in English.
• Senior‑level mindset with strong attention to detail.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Excel.
• Experience with Tally ERP.
• Knowledge of GST filing, GST reconciliation and Reverse Charge Mechanism (RCM).
• Understanding of TDS provision, filing and revision.
• Solid grasp of statutory compliance, Income Tax and financial reporting.
