Senior Accountant – R2R General Accounting Specialist

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Specialist to join the OCFO Controllers – R2R General Accounting team in Pune. The role will own day‑to‑day general ledger accounting, month‑end close, and multi‑currency revaluation for assigned functional areas.

Key responsibilities

• Perform daily general ledger accounting and analysis for designated functions.
• Lead month‑end, quarter‑end and year‑end close activities, including provisions, reserves and FX calculations.
• Prepare and review medium‑ to high‑complexity balance‑sheet reconciliations in line with corporate policies.
• Collaborate with on‑shore teams to resolve reconciliation variances and aged items, escalating issues as needed.
• Act as Subject Matter Expert for reconciliation processes and ensure compliance with GAAP and corporate accounting standards.
• Develop and maintain process documentation and dashboards for stakeholders.
• Adopt AI tools such as Microsoft Co‑pilot to streamline finance processes.

Required profile

• 8‑12 years of Record‑to‑Report (R2R) experience.
• B.Com with 8+ years, or M.Com/MBA with 6+ years, or CWA‑Inter/CA‑Inter with 6+ years.
• Strong knowledge of month‑end close, provisions, FX calculation and multi‑currency revaluation.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Required skills

• ERP systems – PeopleSoft or Oracle.
• Reconciliation tools – Blackline (preferred).
• Advanced MS Excel, MS Word, PowerPoint.
• Power BI and Power Query.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Co‑pilot and other AI tools.
